Nasheed Al Amal Hoor

From its earliest decades, the State Stud of Marbach had looked to Egypt for refinement, authenticity, and genetic depth in its Arabian breeding program. Influential imports such as Jasir (imported to Weil, the predecessor of Marbach's purebred Arabian breeding program), Gharib and, above all, Hadban Enzahi, had shaped the Straight Egyptian component of the Marbach herd.
In this long-standing tradition stood Nasheed Al Amal Hoor, a grey stallion born in 2010 and imported from Egypt in 2021. Bred by Philippe Paraskevas at Hoor Al Oyoun Stud, Nasheed represented a rare and historically significant sire line, combined with one of the most treasured dam lines of Egyptian breeding. For breeders and enthusiasts of Straight Egyptian and Marbach-bred Arabians alike, he offered both continuity and renewed genetic opportunity.
Nasheed Al Amal Hoor, whose name translated from Arabic as “The Poem of Hope,” embodied the hope of preserving authentic Egyptian type and substance in modern breeding, while reinforcing a sire line that had become increasingly rare.
Nasheed Al Amal Hoor’s sire, the bay Hafez Al Ahd Hoor (Ghallab El Ateya x Shams Kareem), traced in tail-male line to Jamil El Kebir through the influential Egyptian state stallion Anter/Antar (by Hamdan). Anter represented one of the most important modern conduits of the Jamil El Kebir sire line, transmitting strength, athletic action, and unmistakable masculinity.
A particularly significant continuation of this line came through Anter’s 1964 grey son Wahag (x Kamar), bred by the Egyptian Agricultural Organization (EAO). Wahag was the result of the highly successful cross of Anter on daughters of Nazeer. He was a full sibling to *Kahramana, Saab, and Moneer.
Anter was also the sire of the black stallion Gharib, whose arrival at Marbach in 1970 under the direction of Dr. Wenzler marked a decisive moment in Marbach's Straight Egyptian breeding. By the time of Nasheed’s life and breeding career, the Jamil El Kebir line had become rarely encountered in Europe, making Nasheed genetically valuable beyond his individual qualities.
This made the historical connection particularly meaningful: the same Anter-based sire line that had once shaped Marbach through Gharib returned through Nasheed in a modern generation.
Nasheed’s dam, Aneedah (Rashdan x Enad), traced to Roga El Beida, from the celebrated and potent branch of Moniet El Nefous (over Mouna). Few names in Egyptian breeding commanded such reverence as Moniet El Nefous, whose descendants had influenced breeding programs worldwide.
Nasheed Al Amal Hoor had been a stallion of substance and presence. Dry in expression, with a strong, well-set neck and a solid topline, he stood on powerful joints and correct limbs. His body exhibited depth and harmony rather than exaggeration. He was unmistakably masculine — a stallion at first glance, a quality that many modern halter show stallions lacked. His movement was energetic and ground-covering, with a naturally elevated carriage and active hindquarter. Under saddle in the Egyptian desert, he had proved his rideability, willingness, and resilience.
Before his export to Germany, Nasheed was already an established sire in Cairo. His offspring had been repeatedly awarded and were noted for inheriting his exotic nobility, correct bodies, and powerful motion. At Paraskevas Arabians, he left several foals that reinforced his reputation as a reliable transmitter of type and substance.
In 2022, he was awarded the Silver Ribbon by the German Arabian Horse Association.
From 2023 until his death in summer 2026, Nasheed produced more than a dozen foals for Marbach, all combining exotic type with correctness.
