WM Dizi
WM Dizi is a grey mare foaled in 2023. Bred and owned by Marbach State Stud, she belongs to the first foal crop of the French endurance stallion Nabor El Masan to be born at Marbach.
Nabor El Masan was foaled in 2000 in France and was bred by Haras de la Majorie. A son of Masan, by Hadban Enzahi, he was himself an endurance horse, competing at distances up to 130 kilometers. His importance as a sire was demonstrated particularly by his French offspring: of 48 registered descendants, 30 had achieved results in national or international endurance.
Among them were internationally competing horses such as Cirrus D'Alauze, a 2012 son recorded by the FEI in CEI2 120-kilometer competition, and Henabor La Loze, a 2017 son who won a CEI1 100-kilometer competition at Fontainebleau in 2024.
Marbach brought Nabor El Masan from France in 2022, with the intention of combining his performance background with the historic Weil-Marbach bloodlines already present in his pedigree. He was used as a breeding stallion at Marbach from 2023 onward. Thirteen of his foals were born at the Hauptgestüt between 2023 and 2026, before he died in July 2026 at the age of 26.
WM Dizi's dam Dahi (Insh Allah x Dukna) comes from Marbach's established D-line, a family shaped from asil and Polish Arabian lines.
Dahi has already made a notable contribution to the Marbach breeding program as a broodmare. Two of her sons, WM Devdas and WM Daraschad, have been selected as breeding stallions at the stud. In recognition of her breeding record, Dahi was awarded the designation “Elite Mare” by the German Arab Horse Association (VZAP).
Her dam, Dukna, was an important broodmare at Marbach, too. She was known for her compact build and good movement. Dukna was the granddaughter of Dschadaah, who became a World Champion Mare in 1986.
Dukna was also a maternal half-sister to the full brothers Dschandru and Dschehim, both by Pamir I. Dschehim was used as a breeding stallion at Marbach until his premature death in 2016. Dahi was additionally a half-sister to Dafina by Amurath Muntahi, another mare retained for breeding at Marbach.
WM Dizi is an elegant young mare with clear Arabian type, which becomes particularly apparent when she is moving. She has a good overall frame and shows the functional movement that is also associated with her maternal family. Like her maternal grandmother, Dukna, she is a good and correct mover.
Her neck is well shaped, although somewhat short in proportion to the rest of her frame. Her head is characterized by large, dark, expressive eyes that contribute strongly to her Arabian expression.
WM Dizi represents a young generation within the Marbach Arabian breeding program, in which historic Weil-Marbach bloodlines continue to be combined with performance-oriented ancestry. At her present age, her significance is naturally still to be determined; her further development will provide the basis for assessing how she fits into the continuing breeding history of the D-line.
