Al Aneed LDA
Al Aneed LDA
The dark bay Straight Egyptian stallion Al Aneed LDA, foaled in 2007 and bred by LD Arabians in the United States, presents an immediate and unmistakable expression of classical Straight Egyptian type. His finely sculpted head, with its dry features, large expressive eye, and refined muzzle, is set upon a long, elegantly arched neck carried with natural elevation and presence.
Al Aneed LDA was sired by Alixir, a Straight Egyptian stallion by The Elixir (1992–2017) and out of a daughter by The Minstril. The paternal line traces to Aseel, further through Aseel's sire Sameh (El Moez x Samara) to the desert-bred stallion Gamil El Kebir, anchoring the pedigree firmly in classical Egyptian foundation stock. Bred at the Royal Inshass Stud of King Farouk, thegrey Sameh was renowned for transmitting balance, athleticism, and a distinctive and powerful hindquarter. He became a cornerstone sire for producing excellent broodmares as well as a handful of the significant sires such as Sultann (x Lubna), Ibn Hafiza (x Hafiza) and the already mentioned Aseel (x Ina).
Bred by James and Judy Sirbasku at Arabians Ltd. in Texas, Alixir stood in the United States until 2017, when he was exported to Spain.
On the dam side of Alixir, the bay stallion The Minstril (1984-2010) can be found. Foaled in 1984 by Ruminaja Ali out of Bahila, The Minstril emerged as a defining sire of late twentieth-century Straight Egyptian breeding. Celebrated as Egyptian Event Supreme Champion Stallion and Leading Sire, he was instrumental in the renaissance of classical Egyptian type, transmitting refinement, elegance, and consistency to an exceptional number of progeny. His legacy, perpetuated through sons such as Thee Desperado or daughters such as Belle Staar (the dam of the beautiful black "pearl" The Vision HG), continues to shape contemporary Straight Egyptian pedigrees.
Illa Magidaa LDA, the dam of Al Aneed LDA, also carried The Minstril in her pedigree through her sire, Thee Desperado. She belonged to the Obeyah Om Grees strain, a family renowned for producing elegant, highly typey horses, tracing back to the desert-bred mare Obeya.
Al Aneed LDA’s dam line is anchored in the celebrated mare Magidaa, one of the most influential foundation mares of modern Straight Egyptian breeding. Imported from Egypt in 1967 by Douglas B. Marshall of Gleannloch Farms, Magidaa quickly established herself as an exceptional producer, ultimately becoming recognized as the leading dam of champions among Egyptian Arabians. Her legacy is perpetuated through descendants such as Bint Magidaa, dam of the legendary Ruminaja Ali, thereby cementing the family’s enduring impact on the breed.
Central to this maternal dynasty is Shaikh Al Badi, grandsire of Illa Magidaa LDA, and one of the most prepotent sons by Morafic. A U.S. National Reserve Champion Futurity Stallion and a sire of numerous champions like Ruminaja Ali, Shaikh Al Badi combined athletic excellence with remarkable breeding potency.
Following his early development in the United States, Al Aneed LDA was exported to Switzerland, where he became part of the distinguished program of Nayla Hayek’s Hanaya Arabians, in Switzerland.Under this ownership, he was successfully presented in international competition, earning notable results in senior stallion classes, including Bronze Senior Champion Stallion at the Elran Cup in 2014. Subsequently, he was leased to Fontanella Arabians in Italy, where he continued his career within another highly respected European program. During his time in Italy, he sired notable offspring including Magic Eternity (out of Magic Marina), who was named Czech National Gold Champion Colt in 2020 under the ownership of Milada Machácková.
Al Aneed LDA represents a thoughtfully constructed example of Straight Egyptian breeding, combining established sire lines with a historically significant dam family. His pedigree reflects a deliberate concentration of proven bloodlines, including the reinforcing presence of The Minstril on both sides, while maintaining strong connections to classical Egyptian foundation stock.
