About Altis
Altis, the grey son by WH Justice out of the pure Polish mare Albia (by Pers), stands as one of the most accomplished Polish-bred Arabians of his generation, a horse whose career united elite show-ring success with lasting influence at stud. Bred in Poland and shaped by the country’s rigorous breeding philosophy, Altis combined modern type with athleticism and presence, qualities that carried him from national prominence to international recognition.
On the sire line, WH Justice needs little introduction. As one of the most influential stallions of the modern era, he consistently transmitted charisma, expression, and an unmistakable silhouette. In Altis, these traits were paired with balance and elasticity, resulting in a stallion whose movement became one of his most defining features. Yet Altis was never merely a product of his famous sire; the strength of his pedigree lay equally in his dam line.
Albia, a pure Polish daughter by Pers, was bred at the renowned Bialka Stud, a state stud celebrated for producing horses of athletic ability, durability, and correctness. The Pers daughters were valued for their functional movement and strong toplines, and Albia proved a worthy representative of this lineage. Through her, Altis inherited not only substance and quality of motion, but also the genetic consistency that underpins long-term breeding success. This carefully balanced pedigree placed Altis firmly within the continuum of Polish Arabian breeding while allowing him to excel on the modern international stage.
Altis’s early show career in Poland was exceptional. In 2007 he claimed the title of Polish National Reserve Junior Champion, winning his class with an impressive 91.67 points, including a “20” for head and neck and two “20s” for movement. In the finals he stood Reserve to Bialka’s Celsjusz, a result that was confirmed only weeks later at the All Nations Cup in Aachen, where Altis again earned the title of Reserve Junior Champion Stallion. The same year brought further international confirmation: a Top Five Junior Stallion title in Verona and recognition among the Junior Top Ten at the World Championships.
Following these successes, the decision was made to sell him. As breeder Krzysztof Gozdzialski later reflected, Altis had already written himself into the history of Polish Arabian horse breeding, a sentiment reinforced when, in 2011, Altis won the All Nations Cup class for stallions aged four to six with 92.20 points, including three “20s” for his impressive trot.
Imported to Germany in 2009, Altis entered a new and influential chapter at Ismer Stud, where he served as chief sire. That same year, at the Stallion Licensing of the German Arabian Horse Association, Altis was registered into the studbook with excellent scores and awarded a gold ribbon, formally confirming his quality under German breeding standards. At Ismer Stud, he sired a significant number of foals, transmitting his trademark movement, presence, and modern expression, and establishing himself as more than a show champion—he became a breeding stallion of consequence.
In 2014, Altis was exported to Switzerland, continuing his international journey.
