Kallisto 1997
The striking black stallion Kallisto, born in 1997, represented one of the excellent horses bred by Walter Koch's Saalegrund Stud. Combining the proven strength of the foundation sire Mansul with the rare black bloodlines of Khemala, Kallisto stood as a testament to the German-Cross concept: Tracing back in all lines to post-war German foundation Arabian horses.
Kallisto was sired by German Elite stallion Mansul. The chestnut Mansul was born in 1975 and became the foundation sire of Saalegrund Stud. He was bred by Edmund Schendel of Rosdorf, Germany, and was sired by Sawih Ibn Wisznu out of Mekka. Mansul was not only typey but also had excellent riding horse conformation. He was state licensed in 1978 and, in 1979, he became the best Arabian at the stallion performance test in Munich-Riem. Acquired by Walter Koch at the age of two, Mansul proved to be an exceptional sire for his stud. His progeny included the mares Jaszerah, Jarissah, Jarikah, Jamilah, and the stallions Mansuhri, Jericko, and Janosch. His most celebrated offspring was the German Elite mare Jassrah, German National Reserve Champion and All Nation's Cup Champion Mare. Mansul passed away in 2000, leaving a lasting legacy in German Arabian breeding.
Kallisto's dam was Khemala, a black mare of exceptional type, carried historically significant bloodlines. She was a product of a half-sister mating. Her sire was the black stallion Mouka-Tuam out of Khamala, both by Joka-Tuam. Her dam line traced back to 74 Tifle db through Kho-Rha, a mare bred at Babolna, Hungary, who became a foundation mare at the Achental Stud of Gertrude Griesbach.
Khemala not only produced Kallisto but also other important offspring, including Kardinal, a bay stallion and older full brother to Kallisto, and Kyros II, a black stallion by Janosch (by Mansul). Through her foals, Khemala contributed significantly to the black Arabian breeding program at Saalegrund.
Kallisto was used at Saalegrund Stud between 2001 and 2005 producing 17 foals among them the mare Nerah who became broodmare at Saalegrund Stud.
In 2009, Kallisto was exported to France, where he sired an additional 15 foals. Among them is Soltan El Mektoub (out of EM Selma), a black stallion born in 2018 who went on to achieve success in regional halter competitions.
Kallisto was recorded as deceased in October 2017, according to the French studbook.

The Princess of Egypt
In summer 2007, a beautiful dappled-grey mare entered the ring of the Orientalica show in Frankfurt/Germany. With her Arabian type, feminine expression yet without losing bone and substance she conquered the championships and won the Senior Champion Mare title. The name of this mare was The Princess of Egypt.
The Princess of Egypt was not unknown to the halter show ring. As a three-years old, she was awarded German National Junior Champion Filly, All Nations Cup Champion Filly and European Reserve Champion Filly all in 2000. Being Straight Egyptian by bloodline, The Princess of Egypt was shown at the Asil World Cup the same year where she was named Junior Champion Filly.
This lovely mare is a daughter by Orayan. Orayan was by Maysoun, a Ansata Halim Shah son out of the Messaoud daughter Oraya. Orayan was European and British National Champion Stallion. Unfortunately, this grey stallion died young before he could built up a bigger number of offspring.
The dam of The Princess of Egypt is Shahneekha. This bay mare was by Anaza Bay Shahh out of a Ibn El Mareekh daughter. She was imported from the United States to Germany by Horst Preuss of Madheen Arabians where she was used as broodmare producing 10 foals until she was exported to Al Salhia Stud in Saudi-Arabia.
The Princess of Egypt gave birth to her first foal (Princess Madheen) in 2002 by German National Champion Stallion Maydan-Madheen, followed by Princess Madheen's full-sister Munira Madheen in 2003. In 2005, The Princess of Egypt gave birth to her most notable son: Farid HP by Farres.
The second son born at Madheen Arabians was Mujahid Madheen by Alzeer Al Rayyan. Mujahid Mahdeen was used as endurance horse.
When Madheen Arabians was silently dispersed in 2007/2008, The Princess of Egypt was sold along with her full-sister Sharuby HP to the Middle East. While Sharuby HP went to Al Waab Stud in Qatar, The Princess of Egypt was acquired by Ajman Stud in the UAE.
For Ajman Stud, she - grown into a snow-white beauty - produced four colts by several halter show champions. No further foals out of her were registered after 2017.

Shownel
Shownel was sired by Showkayce (1992–2020), a striking grey stallion who stood 15.3 hands and carried with him both presence and proven achievement. Bred and deeply cherished by Carol Steppe of Day Dream Arabians in California, Showkayce became the cornerstone of her breeding program and her chief stallion. He embodied the union of two influential bloodlines: sired by the celebrated Fame VF+, the 1987 U.S. National Champion Stallion and Legion of Honor recipient, and out of Kay, the treasured foundation mare of Day Dream Arabians. Showkayce’s own show career reflected his quality, earning distinctions as both a Canadian and U.S. National Top Ten Stallion and capturing the 1995 Buckeye Unanimous Champion Stallion title. His Legion of Honor recognition further testified to his impact in the ring, but his greater legacy lay in the breeding barn, where he transmitted type, size, and charisma to his get, continuing the vision of his breeder.
Shownel’s dam, the grey mare WR Jullane was born in 2001 and sired by Jullyen El Jamaal (1996–2014), the influential bay stallion bred by Haras Mei Lua in Brazil. He was later owned by Sheila Varian of Varian Arabians. Jullyen El Jamaal became one of the most important sires of his generation, carrying the legacy of his sire Ali Jamaal—the legendary stallion who transformed Arabian breeding in Brazil as chief sire for Lenita Perroy’s Haras Mei Lua and who himself earned the titles of 1989 Canadian National Champion Stallion and 1990 U.S. National Champion Stallion.
On her maternal side, WR Jullane was out of Likely to Strike, a grey daughter by Strike, winner of both the Scottsdale Grand Champion Stallion and the U.S. National Champion Stallion titles. This dam line traces to the celebrated desert-bred mare Rodania, through Al-Marah Rainbow, a mare who combined beauty with athleticism and gained renown as a Tevis Cup contender in 1963 under Linda Tellington-Jones. With such a pedigree, WR Jullane brought together halter-winning refinement, proven producing ability, and the substance of an enduring dam line.
Shownel has a beautifully sculpted head with large, dark eyes and a finely dished profile, set on a long, well-shaped neck that rises smoothly from the shoulder and carries with it a natural arch.
Her animated and elastic movement likely reflects the heritage of Strike, her great grand-sire.
As a young mare Shownel was halter shown, firstly in the United States where she earned recognition as the 2006 U.S. National Top Ten Breeders Sweepstakes Yearling Filly, standing out in a competitive field of young mares. The following year she crossed the Atlantic, where she was named Top Five Filly at the prestigious All Nations Cup in Aachen.
Shownel’s value as a broodmare was recognized internationally, and she was acquired by Dubai Arabian Stud, where she contributed to their elite program. There she produced two notable colts: D Daffer, a grey stallion foaled in 2012 by the World Champion Marajj, and D Dabawi, a bay stallion foaled in 2014 by RFI Farid, one of the most admired sires of recent years.
In Shownel we see the timeless qualities of the Arabian horse—beauty, grace, athleticism, and the ability to inspire across generations. Her heritage is written in the names of legends, yet she carved her own chapter through success in the showring and her contribution as a broodmare.

Anisha RCA
Anisha RCA was sired by Absolut RCA, a grey Straight Egyptian stallion born in 1994, bred in the United States by Janet L. Kelley and later imported to Germany. Absolut RCA was a son of the internationally influential Thee Desperado, whose sire The Minstril left a profound mark on modern Straight Egyptian breeding, and out of The Essens LadyWhite (by Hansan).
Her dam, Amirah II, a chestnut Straight Egyptian mare born in 1997, was sired by Masri El Salaam and out of Autumn Misty, herself a direct daughter of The Minstril. This brings The Minstril into Anisha RCA’s pedigree twice—through both her sire and dam.
Aminah II traced to the desert-bred Bint el Bahrein (1898), with the line carried forward through Cleopatraa, the striking black mare bred at El Zahraa and imported to the United States by Gleannloch Farms in 1970, a foundation for many influential Egyptian programs abroad.
Anisha RCA was rarely shown at halter shows. In 2007 she was shown at a halter event in Frankfurt, Germany. Later, in 2012, she competed at the Prague Intercup, where she placed fifth in her class, adding an international appearance to her record.
Anisha RCA had three registered daughters in Germany. Her first foal was the grey mare JKF Symphonie (2009, by Saif), followed by another grey mare, JKF Karima (2011, by Tareef Halim). After a break in breeding, she produced the chestnut mare Ameerah Maria (2019, by COF Just Tru).

MZ-Djamira
The bay mare MZ-Djamira was bred by Margot Zinniker of MZ Arabians in Switzerland. Born in 2006, MZ-Djamira was sired by Shaklan Ibn Bengali.
Shaklan Ibn Bengali (1997–2013), a bay stallion, was sired by FS Bengali, a son World Champion Stallion Kubinec, carrying the Bairactar db sire line. Shaklan's dam, LM Sanduga was by Spanish bred stallion El Perfecto and traced to the Venus db dam line through the Bint Rustem branch, representing the Hadban Enzahi strain. This blend of Russian and Spanish-Egyptian heritage combined substance with classic type, producing a horse of notable presence. Shaklan Ibn Bengali earned titles as Swiss National Reserve Champion Colt (1998) and Stallion (2004), reflecting the quality of his distinguished pedigree.
World Champion Kubinec also appeared on MZ-Djamira's dam-line, as her dam WA Djambala was sired by Kapitol, a Kubinec son. WA Djambala's Straight Russian dam Djubnavala was bred at Tersk Stud and was sired by Karnaval—also the sire of the 2007 Dutch National Reserve Champion Mare Verkarna—and out of Dulcinea. Djubnavala was Reserve Senior Champion Mare at the 2000 Championat d’Alsace.
In 2008, MZ-Djamira earned the title of Reserve Junior Champion Filly at the Casino Cup in Baden. She later produced a single registered offspring, MZ-Djilshada, a bay daughter by multi-halter champion QR Marc (by Marwan Al Shaqab). Through MZ-Djilshada, MZ-Djamira’s influence continues in both the show ring and the breeding program of Emaj Arabians in Switzerland. Concluding her broodmare career while standing at Nylemat Arabians, Switzerland, MZ-Djamira transitioned to a new role as a riding horse.

Hadidi
Born February 22, 1990, the grey Straight Egyptian stallion Hadidi—bred by Gleannloch Farms in Barksdale, Texas—was a horse of legendary presence and pedigree.
Hadidi’s sire, Norus, was a grey stallion, born in 1986, sired by the black Egyptian import Gharib (by Anter), who stood as chief sire at the renowned Marbach State Stud in Germany. Gharib was celebrated for introducing rich color, powerful, expressive movement and overall athletic ability to the predominantly silver-grey Marbach herd. Norus’s dam, Noha, was a daughter by Hadban Enzahi. The Nazeer son Hadban Enzahi was imported from Egypt and became one of Marbach’s most influential stallions. This daughter Noha was also dam of the beautiful mare RN Farida (by Salaa El Dine), multi halter Champion mare.
On the maternal side, Hadidi descended from US National Futurity Champion Mare Hebet Allah, an absolutely beautiful and impressive daughter of Morafic—one of the most influential Straight Egyptian sires ever imported to the U.S.—and Soheir II, a grey Nazeer granddaughter. This dam line belongs to the Egyptian Bint El Bahreyn family of the Dahman Shahwan strain, celebrated for elegance, endurance, and typey heads.
At just two years old, Hadidi whose name meant 'the iron one' or 'one of steel', was sold through Gleannloch’s Final Legacy Sale for $60,000, then exported to Italy There, he matured into an elegant and charismatic stallion with large liquid-black eyes and superb movement—traits lauded across Europe.
Hadidi achieved remarkable success in the international show arena, earning the title of World Champion Stallion in 1997, a distinction that recognized his outstanding type and presence. In 2001, he added to his accolades by being named All Nations Cup Champion Senior Stallion in Aachen, and later that same year, he was honored as the World Reserve Champion Stallion in Paris.
Hadidi proved to be a prolific sire. Among his most notable progeny was the grey mare Elettra, who produced the influential stallion Shael Dream Desert. Widely regarded for his refinement and charisma, Shael Dream Desert stood at stud in Italy, Brazil, the United States, and Saudi Arabia, contributing to halter programs across four continents. Until his death in 2024, he sired numerous champions, including FT Shaella, 2012 Senior World Silver Champion Mare; Felicia RLC, 2010 Scottsdale Reserve Junior Champion Filly; and Bruma Bahamas, Brazilian National Champion Filly.
Other significant daughters of Hadidi include Isabelle HG, who was named Supreme Champion Mare at the U.S. Egyptian Event in 2003, and Dorian Bint Hadidi, who earned Reserve Champion honors at the same event.
Hadidi passed away on July 24, 2017, leaving behind a legacy mainly through his daughters and their influential descendants.
